This study captures a mallard duck in profile, its iridescent green head and brown chest rendered with the careful precision of a naturalist field guide. A soft shadow beneath the bird and the warm cream of the aged paper give the piece a quiet, timeworn character, while touches of forest green and dusty blue keep the palette grounded and calm. It carries the studious, unhurried feel of vintage scientific illustration rather than decorative bird art. Hung in a reading nook or above a desk in a home office, it suits anyone drawn to the patient detail of old natural history plates.”}[fix]{
